Discover Bangkok- Jan 2013

It was excided to fly with Thai airway for this short trip. I felt good with its theme purple-pinkish colour and Thai culture aircraft. I can feel that Bangkok welcome us with warm.

At Changi Airport
We decided to take the Suvarnabhumi Airport's Rail Link to our hotel, Grand Centara at Central World. There are airport-city express lane (THB 90) which only take 15 minutes and city line (THB 45) which will make eight stops across the capital and transit at Phaya Thai to city sky train (BTS) and take 30minutes.

We were welcome by a glass of  juicy pineapple at the sky lobby after a long journey from the airport.

WatArun, Wat Phara Kaew, Grand Palace
We took the train to Saphan Taksin station to took a boat  (THB 30 for orange flag) at Tha Tien Pier at Chao Praya River to have our river ride. Our trip supposed to arrange as Wat Arun - Wat Phara Kaew - Grand Palace - Chinatown. Wat Arun or the Temple of Dawn, one of the most striking riverside landmarks of Thailand which is just opposite the Wat Phra Kaew. Thinking of taking some great pictures but unlucky there was nothing to see because it was 7pm and the temples has closed at 5.30pm. :(

Wat Arun
Platinum Fashion Mall
Next day, it was time to explore Bangkok myself during he attending conference. It took a 5 minutes walk through a canal from Central World to Platinum Fashion Mall located at Pratunum where every girl will go mad with their shopping spree. It specializes in fashion clothes and accessories retail and wholesale. The clothes are much cheaper and quality. THB 100 can get me 4-5 pieces of nice clothes. It’s air conditioned, and complete with a big food court at the 4th floor. Here, can find some Thai food to fill the stomach after a tired shopping.

Platinum Fashion Mall
After shopping at Platinum Mall, just a 5 minutes walk to Bamee Saeb Khun Song Khamoo (also known as Saeb x 2) for sinful famous wantan noodles and braised pork rice. Located in Soi Petchburi 19, which is just across the road from Platinum Fashion Mall and Pantip Plaza and turn into the alley when see a McD at the corner.

Dry wantan noodles (THB 40), served with springy egg noodles, meaty slices of charsiew (roast pork), flavorful wantan (dumplings), vegetables, topped with chopped spring onions and lots of fried crispy pork lard.
At night we went to Siam Square area to have our Thai food. Som Tam Thai food is an awarded famous Thai food restaurant, but the queue was too long. Without waste time for waiting, we moved to another one. A Tom Yam soup, Pha Thai, Pork Satay, Pineapple fried rice, pineapple juice were our yummy dinner.

After the dinner, we took BTS to King Power Duty Free. Tourist can buy their goods here at duty free price and collect at airport when departing. However, I no found any interesting here because the price is not so attractive and the mall was pack with China's tourists.
