17- 18 months

My little one is turning 18 months today. How far she goes in this 18 months? Mommy found that she is amazing!

For baby:

Grow:
Her weight is 9kg and height ?. She is pretty tall now.

Feeding:
Victoria is picky eaters now. She left vegetables on her plate and will split out anything she does not like, like vegetables, meats or any big food. But she takes juices, French fries, sweet food, kuih and dried fruits . Mommy bought a slow juicer to make fruit juices for her every day and she drinks them. Mommy also get a food dehydrator to make some dried fruits for her as her snack. She loves them even the fruits are sour. 

Started this month, mommy weaned her breastfeeding. I reduce the frequency of expressing milk during work day by weekly then follow by only latching. Victoria only latches on demand at night. Unfortunately, she still woke up several times over the night just ask to latch.

She still refuse to take bottle milk at night or at home, so we bought her a new soft silicone milk bottle. Thanks to Como Tomo for their fantastic design. Victoria loves it and starts to accept bottle feed with milk formula at home and before go to bed at night. We are so happy finally feeding is not headaches to us. This is because the contribution of new bottle or because she cannot satisfied with mommy breastmilk supply after latching. The breastmilk supply is very little after 2 weeks of weaning down.

She is only able to drink 120ml each time, 2 times in morning, 1 time in afternoon and 1 time before bed.

Her baby sister told she will ask to on the television and listen to the music while drinking milk.

Night time:
She used to sleep around 1030pm now after latching. She accepts formula milk at night before bed after mommy wean down her breast milk and changed a new soft silicone bottle. But she still likes to latch for few minutes before sleep time and woke up several times at night (2-5) to ask for latching. She will cry and say ‘ma ma…’ now.

Development:
She likes to call ‘ma ma’ or ‘pa pa’ whenever she wants anything or help or wants to rescue her for others.

She is scare of any sound that come from no where. She show ‘pa pa’ and sometime will tell ‘pa pa’.

She likes to follow what we do. She likes shopping and will takes whatever put in the basket. Then she will help to carry the shopping bag.

She is very alert to the sound. Door open, gate open, car horn, television advertisement sound. All kind of sound she can tell what is going on. She will say ‘pa pa’ when heard door open, gate open. She knows to differential by car horn when I go to fetch her from baby sister house.

We can hear she sing and dance when she listen to music or television.

She likes to feed herself rather then we feed her. After she get full, she will take her plate to aside and cover with food cover then tell she wants to come out from her seat. She will point to you and cry to ask whatever she wants it

Playing time:
She will take her story books and ‘read’ on them. It is for sure we do not understand what she read.

For Mommy:

Mommy has decided to wean down breastfeeding by weekly reduce one time of expressing milk during day time at work. Unfortunately, weaning Victoria from latching is not easy. She still continue to latch on demand and I try to shorten the time she latch by stopping her. No more wash plenty of bottle in the morning and after work.
