Stay at Taiwan: Sept 2012

Last two weeks we attended a course and conference at Taiwan. It was 4 hours flight from Singapore to Taipei. We were so happy and enjoying the bigger space in flight as we get the first row seat. We have been arranged to transfer to Caesar Park Taipei Hotel, located in the heart of Taipei City directly across from Taipei Main Station, it offers the most convenient access to Taiwan Railway, Taiwan High Speed Rail, Taipei Metro, buses and other major landmarks and attractions.  After a quick bath, we filled our stomach with some tasty taiwanese dumpling noodles and ru rou fan (卤肉饭) before started first class at night and follow by our late dinner at Tang Dynasty (糖朝). It's famous with its dessert and specialities Tauhua (豆花),  At here, we have tried tofu pudding in a cask (原木桶豆腐花) for splitting among multiple diners. It's taste very smooth. Next day, we took the MRT to the famous landmark, top brand shopping mall- Taipei 101 to have our fast shopping and lunch. Here

Flying with Firefly Airways

Last Saturday I am flying to Subang from Johor Bahru by Firefly. This is the first time flying with Firefly.   Firefly aircraft has its small body and  a pair of big fans. This small aircraft flies with its twin-turbop and is operated and subsidairy by MAS.   Although it was an hour flight only, they served us with some snacks like cake, pie or nuts and a drink during the fly. This mini aircraft has only 76 seats per aircraft. We were enjoyed taking Firefly because less crowd during boarding and landing at the Subang airport. Subang terminal is spacious and caters for turbo-prop domestic and also regional international commercial flights operated by Firefly and Berjaya Air. We have the feeling like VIP flight.   It is good to land at Subang airport because it is nearer to our hotel, The Garden Mall - Mid Valley Mall and the taxi fare only charged RM45. In the mean while, the flight time also suit to our schedule, JB-Subang 8.30am, while Subang-JB 8.10pm.   Thanks to Fire

Sydney Gateway August 2012

We take this Hari Raya Puasa holiday opportunity to have a long break at Sydney. It took a long journey to fly to Sydney. 8 hours in the flight, we have 3 movies, 3 meals and few short sleeps. What a great experience flying with Qatar Airway. The time different with Malaysia is 2 hours. We finally reached at Sydney Kingsford International airport at 6am. A long queue at the imigration in this early morning. When we past the imigration, we were asked to see another officer for further questioning. Do we look like coming for holiday, don't we?   What a tire journey! We quickly headed to our hotel, Baywater Hotel Sydney at King Cross but no room available to check-in yet. So, we have our first breakfast at the Cafe next to our hotel. The sandwices and bacon filled our stomach. It was winter time here, so it was cold. The Australians were bathing in the sun and with their sunglasses while enjoying their weekend breakfast with friends or family. After the breakfast, finally we get

Chengdu- Jiu Zhai Gou: April 2012

I have a memorable trip of 8days in Chengdu-Jiu Zhai Gou. We arrived at Chengdu Suan Liu Airport at the 12midnight and we took a cab to our Hotel. Surprisingly, the cab her ehas no extra surcharge for airport cab. The next day morning, we started our trip to the world-renowned Chengdu Panda Breeding Research Base which is situated in Futou Mountain, 10km (6miles) north of Chengdu downtown. We planned to take a cab as we have 4 of us, just nice. Here, our bad experience started. The bad traffic in Chengdu city. What an unsystematic traffic on the road. People fight for taking cab in the middle of the road, bicycle, buses, motocars, motor, pedistrain all cross-linked. Finally, we managed to grab a cab and willing to send us to the place.     The base is replete with indispensable equipment for all kinds of breeding and research regarding Giant Pandas, such as rooms for the animals, feeding rooms, clinics, a Giant Panda Museum and research building, as well as huge bamboo p

French Village - CNY 2012

Image
This year Chinese New Year, my family and I has decided to go to French Village at Bukit Tinggi, Pahang. It's take about 3 hours drive from Kajang heading to Colmar Tropicale. As the car goes up the mountain road, you can get the first glimpse of Colmar Tropicale nestling among the green pine trees. It looks like a castle from a storybook. We reached there aroud 4.30pm as the Japanese Garden has closed for visitor. Visitors are only allowed to walk around French Village, and the entrance fees is half of the fees. As we reached Colmar Tropicale, the cool mountain air, colourful flowers add in the European touch to the attraction. We walked across the wooden dawnbridge to the entrance of Colmar Tropicale, just like going into a castle in the olden days. Inside Colmar Tropicale is a cobblestone street with colourful Colmar-style buildings on either side housing a hotel and food outlets. Further up the village street, Colmar Square features a

Lastly, we changed our plan to Cameron Highlands. Cameron Highlands, here I come after 5 years. We reached Tanah Rata at about 8.30pm, the weather is cool. Its raining outside. We are so happy after the 6 hours drive from Johore Bahru, the first thought is to have our dinner. The famous local food is steamboat. We can see the Steamboat Restorant is everywhere. We decided to go in a Steamboat restorant. I felt myself so warm to have a hot steamboat in this cool weather. Wow, I love this and enjoy it. I believe there is no other place can have this kind of joy in Malaysia. The steamboat includes 9 types of vegetables, some chick
