5 - 6 months

For baby:

Grow:
Victoria weight 6.9kg and length 68cm.

Feeding:
Victoria was fed with 160ml to 180ml 3 hourly and 200ml at week 23.. Her last feed at 9pm to 10pm. She latched just before sleep until both of us fall asleep. She has no or less burp now after feeding. I gave her direct latching when I am not working. If working day, I will give her direct latching at evening, and bottle feed her at night. Sometimes she went to sleep sooner than I before I get myself free.

We plan to start her first feed when she turns 6 months but we started her a week earlier (23 week). We fed her carrot puree and then pumpkin puree. For the beginning, sometime she refused to take, so we mix some breast milk together then she can accept it. Generally, she can accept to eat it. It was a mess. Her clothes and face to neck was very dirty because the puree is very watery and half of it came out from her mouth

Night time:
We found she turned over herself or sleep in another position or corner during night time. The bed was very messy the next day morning, all her toys go somewhere else. She woke up for milk at around 630am or until we send to nanny’s house in morning. But if she slept very early last night around 8pm and skip the last feeding at 9pm or 10pm, she will woke up for milk at 430 am to 6am. This is a good improvement as she can last 8 to 12 hours from her last feed at night. She will wake up at 7am almost every day then play herself in her bed or cry for milk.

However, she have a short cry throughout the night (1- 2 times) when we found she turned around in her bed. Lucky she continued her sleep after some comfort was given by me.

Development:
Victoria likes to see her surrounding as usual.

She sleeps less during day time and less fall asleep when we brought her out.

She used to turn to her left but now she can turn to her right. She can turn freely left right, front back and continuous few turn very fast. She can move from one side to another side of bed very fast.

She can stand with assistant but still need assistant to sit. Finally, she can sit for few minutes and fully raise up her body at week 23.

She attracts to sound and everything around her and her toys. She smiles more and will look at me with her big eyes when I brought her home from nanny’s house after work.

She crawls at week 22. She crawls to everywhere when put her on bed or play mat.

She responses very good to people and likes to smile whenever people calling her.

She likes to see what other doing now. She looks at the food when her mom is eating in front of her. She will eat whatever her toys, clothes, books and teeter. She likes her banana teeter so much, and sometimes she will eat it till get into sleep at nanny’s house. She will open her mouth when we put some food close to her mouth. But we still decide to feed her when she turn 6 months.

Playing time:
This month, we brought her to KL twice (She is 20 week and 21 week). She not slept at night in the hotel. She turned around throughout the night. Lucky the second trip, she can sleep better than last week.  As usual, she slept all the way to Putrajaya.

She has her first time in the kid pool at 21 week. She enjoys it although the pool water is cold. She seem like not so relaxing and not moving so much, but she is enjoying seeing all people around. She hold the pool side and walk. (the water level at her waist)

She can hold and play all her toys. She will put them in her mouth, but she will immediately take the banana teeter to eat and forget about her toys.

She tried hard to crawl everywhere to take her toys when we put her on her play mat. She even crawls to outside the play mat. Then it is the time to put her play yard up.

For Mommy:
Mommy feels more relax and follow daily routine. Less tire compare to last month because Victoria woke up less at mid night to ask for milk. Practice direct latching when not working, so less bottles to wash.

During our KL trips or go out, brought less bottles but the challenge is need to direct latching in public. Victoria will move the nursing cover and her face becomes pinkish when hide under nursing cover to latch.

Total daily milk expressed out is 700-800ml. Get the highest once at 820ml. Lucky I still can get enough milk storage for baby although she drinks 800-950ml per day. I get the extra storage when I gave her direct latching or sometimes she skip the milk when she oversleep. So far, she still no formula milk given. Till to date, she has been fed less than 10 times of formula milk since the milk storage running low at 4 months. So can I consider her as full breast milk baby?

The food that basically can help a little bit to increase my milk supply is high calorie, eat more, cheese, soya milk and read bean.
