Valerie 6- 7 months

For baby: Grow: Victoria weight 5.1kg and length 62cm. Feeding: Valerie started with her first solid food at week 23. Just one week earlier than 6 months old. We fed her carrot puree then the next day purple sweet potato and then potato, broncolli, pumpkin, cabbage, Kai Lan, apple, banana, pear, toufu and etc. This time round, I do not follow the rules of trial for 3 days each new food. I'm abit aggressive and add new food every day. I start on one daily feeding then twice a day 50ml purée after 5 days. She can tolerate and is happy to eat. She can finish it fast and swallow better after 3 days.  She was given her milk as usual too. She drinks around 600- 650ml per day with 100ml each feed.  Since she has poor weight gain this month, only 100g gain for past weeks, the nurse want us to do further check with doctor. The nurse advice me to feed her porridge and add some olive oil in her diet. So I started her porridge on the 26weeks and to finish her multivitamin drop, mct...

Making Home pizza

1 cup (250 ml) warm water 1 teaspoon (5 ml) instant yeast 1 teaspoon (5 ml) sugar 2 cups (500 ml) all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon (5 ml) salt In a bowl, combine the water, yeast and sugar. Let stand until the mixture foams on top, about 5 minutes. In a food processor, it is important to work with the plastic blade or the dough hook. Combine the flour and salt. Increase the speed to medium and add the yeast mixture until a soft ball forms. Remove the dough from the bowl and knead for a few minutes on a floured surface to prevent sticking. Place in a lightly oiled bowl and cover with a clean cloth. Let the dough rise for about 30 minutes in warm and draft-free area. Cut the dough in half. Use the pizza dough immediately or refrigerate it (less than 48 hours), otherwise place it in an airtight bag and freeze. This recipe will make two 23-cm (9-inch) thin-crust pizzas or two 20-cm (8-inch) thicker crust pizzas.

Valerie 5 -6 months

For baby: Grow: Valerie weight 5kg and length 62cm. Feeding: Valerie was fed with 100ml to 120ml 2-3 hourly. Her last feed at 8pm and to latch at 10pm before we go to sleep. But she not keen to latch most of the time and only drink about 60ml. Sometimes she want to bottle feed again 40-50ml before she can quietly go to sleep. She has no or less burp now after feeding.  At night I still bottle feed her 70-80ml whenever I wake up to express milk. In the morning, I bottle feed her 40-60ml then let her latch about 40-60ml.  I started her weaning a week earlier (23 week) before turning to 6 months. Her first weaning is carrot puree during Chinese New Year 3rd day. She accepts well but doesn't know how to swallow, the purée came out with her saliva. After 2 days, she can swallow well and less come out together with her saliva. Her feeding still maintain after her weaning.  Night time: She sleep well throughout the night. She will make some soft noise but not crying. Then...

Valerie 4-5 months

For baby: Grow: Valerie weight 4.05kg and lenght 60cm. Feeding: Valerie was fed with 120 to 140ml 3 hourly. I direct feed her at 10pm as her last milk before sleep. She accepts latching better but sometimes still crying and refuses when milk come out. She has no  or less burp now after feeding. Her weight is at -2SD which is at a concern level. She only earns 500g from previous month. I went to seek advise from paediatric, and I started her with grow fat recipe by add 0.5- 1ml of MCT oil in each feed, Appeton multivitamin with lysine drop 0.5ml each day and 1 capsule of probiotic. The weight stil growing slow and ear around 100g per week only after introduced this regime. I add on woodwards gripewater 5ml daily at week 19 because seem like the result is not so good. After fed her gripewater, her baby sister can feed her 150ml 3 hourly instead of seperate the feeding to 40ml at 2.5hour and 100ml at 3hourly. I feed her every morning before I go to work because I want...

Valerie 3- 4 months

For baby: Grow: Victoria weight 4.05kg and lenght 57cm. Feeding: Valerie was fed with 100 to 120ml 3 hourly. She is kind of taking plenty time to finish one bottle of milk. At her baby sister house, she can finish in 15 -20 minutes 120ml milk. But when come to me, she will take more than 30 minutes or some time even 1 hour time to bottle feed her. Valerie was taking around around 650ml per day. And mommy production is around 700ml. So mommy still have average 1 bag balance of milk to be frozen each day. I started to let her direct latch at night before sleep at 10pm and another breast milk collect in silicone milk collector while she latched on left breast. I will feed her some of the collected milk after latching. Most of time she refuses to latch and cry badly when the milk come out. Mommy feeling so weird why baby doesn't like to latch while my first daughter like to latch. Night time: Valerie slept around 1030pm when mommy ready go to sleep. Most of time she sleeps...
