Preparing for Newborn

I am a new mom to be. This is our first child and we are still very blur. When the time past, we started to learn and mentally prepared for our upcoming newborn. It is a learning time for us to know more and get more information about those baby products, newborn necessary and brand which I never learn, see or know before.

For myself: I started to search for maternity wear everywhere in town and I noticed that very few maternity wear shop or good looking clothes for pretty pregnant ladies. Heard that H&M got maternity wear and I went to Lot 10 H&M but end up very disappointing because only that few pieces or no suitable size available. So, I only bought 1 long working pant. Nevertheless, I felt very lucky to have found this shop mother en vogue at Pavillion Level 3. What surprised me is it has many option of good looking maternity wear from blouse, working dress, bottom, skirt, dress, casual, short pants and etc.. I was very excited and picked up 6 pieces (1 long working pant, 1 short pant, 2 dress, and 2 must have dress) at about total RM800. The material used is eco, bamboo cotton which make its special and price a little bit more expensive yet affordable. Some design is suitable during pregnancy and also lactation, it's very convenient to access to your breast when you need to breast feed.

For my baby: There is a long shopping list for a newborn especially first child in family. After starting do some 'homework' about good brand, the necessary and need for a newborn, we make our first shopping at Singapore Baby Expo in October. We are like a newbie and spent a whole day walked from booth to booth to look for our ideal stroller, car seat, breast pump, sterilizer, bottle warmer, bassinet, bed and etc..

In Singapore, they have more international brand of choice and the price might be cheaper compare to Baby Expo in Johore Bahru for some famous brand which is held just one week before Singapore one. We visited JB Baby Expo also, we spent some time there to see and felt for the exact product and get some idea on brand, product quality and what to buy. Finally, we only got to buy a Spectra M1 automatic breast pump at RM499 and an early education device at RM698.

Talking about stroller, there are plenty brand out there with different quality and the price range from few hundred to few thousand ringgit Malaysia. What make the price so much different although all stroller has only one function? What is the different between below one thousand and above one thousand to two thousand plus one? The answer is same theory as different price for all vehicle on the road. The brand, the quality, the material, the way to fold it, the weight, suitable for new born to 4 years old or need an extra cot or car seat to fit on stroller for new born and the design. Usually dad will more interested when buying a stroller and car seat, so I only follow him. For him, first consideration is the way to fold, less bulky, the quality, the material, suitable to use starts from new born, the weight, the brand and design.

We felt very happy end of the day as we had a good buy. We spent for few thousand but only get to buy few major items and have not buy any baby clothes, diaper, toys, and miscellaneous.
